Do I need a referral to access Paws and Thrive Occupational Therapy services?
You or someone acting on your behalf can submit a referral to us using the Paws and Thrive e-referral form. If you are wish to claim subsidised fees via a Medicare Scheme such as the Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or Chronic Disease Management, please ask your GP to complete our online referral with the accompanying medicare referral.
What types of conditions do you provide services for?
Our Occupational Therapist has extensive experience working with people with disability and offer services for a wide range of conditions. Examples include areas of neurology and neurosciences, mental health, neuro-developmental, orthopaedics, and any conditions associated with aged care such as cognitive decline and medical or surgical conditions. Sleep, fatigue and pain management support is also available. Please contact us if you have any specific requirements.
Do you see people of all ages?
We currently provide Occupational Therapy services to adolescents (from 17 years), adults and older adults. Occupational Therapy assessments for an Assistance Animal are also provided for all self managed or plan-managed NDIS participants over 8 years of age.
Do you have a clinic I can come to?
Paws and Thrive provide a mobile service. This means Occupational Therapy will take place in your home or in the community, depending on your needs and goals. Telehealth services are available in some circumstances and offered to individuals as appropriate. Paws and Thrive have a private office in Mindarie, Western Australia.
I live outside the travel radius from Mindarie, can I still access your service?
Please contact us to discuss your circumstances and location as exceptions and considerations may be considered. Online Telehealth consultations may also be offered if appropriate. Assistance Animal telehealth consultations are available for NDIS participants anywhere in Australia.
Are you a registered NDIS provider?
Nicole Sanders is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist and abides by the Code of conduct and Code of ethics as per the registration requirements. Nicole has completed an NDIS Worker Screen Check and holds a current Working With Children clearance. She is also affiliated with Occupational Therapy Australia and insured by AON Insurance. Due to the uncertainties and recent changes with the new NDIS Bill, Paws and Thrive remains an unregistered NDIS provider for now. Self-managed and plan-managed participants may choose us as their preferred provider or to support their usual Occupational Therapist by providing a one-off Assessment in an area requiring additional skills and knowledge such as Assistance Animal Assessments or a Sensory Profile Assessment.
What funding schemes do you accept?
We provide disability services to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, Medicare Schemes such as Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) and Chronic Disease Management. To access subsidised fees through Medicare, you will require a referral from your GP. (A fee gap is applicable.) If you have Private Health Insurance that includes Occupational Therapy your rebate will depend on your level of cover and annual limits. Please contact us for further information for DVA.
